Shooting in RAW

This year, I started shooting in RAW because I heard of its magical powers.
Let me tell you, it truly is magical!
I bought a larger memory card for my senior portrait sessions to handle the huge file size of each photo and am loving the results.
This is from my shoot today with Chase (more photos to come).
I make plenty of mistakes when it comes to exposure, and thankfully shooting in RAW keeps so much light information to save my photos!

Dayton

This is my cousin, Dayton-- hard to believe how much he's grown up! And into a good-looking man, nonetheless.
He confused me with his new haircut and keeping the tags on his shoes until they fall off, but he photographed surprisingly well for how goofy I know he is.
;)
It also helped to have my goofy dad along for this shoot to help out and give me pointers. Dayton only had to look at my dad to start laughing, which worked out to my advantage.
We went to five prime seattle locations for these shots. Normally I wouldn't travel so much, but my dad drove and he knows Seattle like the back of his hand.

And a couple of outtakes that I'm loving...

Molly

This is my sister, Molly! She's a senior this year at Roosevelt High School--hard to believe. She's grown up into a gorgeous young lady, and I both mean it and take it as a compliment since people ask us if we're twins all the time.
:)
Molly is a race car driver, setting her sights on NASCAR. Here's her website to check her out:

These were also taken at the Washington Arboretum.

Everyone, Meet Eli

My boyfriend's brother and sister-in-law just had the first baby of the family on August 6th, 2012 and I was fortunate enough to become the official family photographer!
Unfortunately, Eli did not cooperate well; and when he did it was in very short spurts. Now that it's been over a month, Jessica and Brian have got a system and figured out why Eli was so unhappy all the time... He just wanted more food!
Eli in these photos is 1.5 weeks. Now that he's almost two months, he's starting to wear 6 month clothing. He's going to be a big boy!

This was my very first time photographing an infant (or any child, really), and I enjoyed it very much.
Congratulations to the happy couple--and family!
